NON-URBAN OUTDOOR PARK GRANT PROGRAM

NOTICE OF PROPOSED ACTIVITY IN THE 100-YEAR FLOODPLAIN  

CITY OF CRESSON

The City of Cresson is making application for park grant funding to create recreational opportunities within the City of Cresson.  Portions of the proposed parklands may be located in a 100 year floodplain.  The proposed recreational construction within the floodplain may have an environmental impact. No construction will take place in area wetlands.

The City of Cresson will hold a Public Hearing on Monday, July 16, 2018 at 5:00 PM at the Cresson City Council Chambers located at 8901 Highway 377, Cresson, TX.  The purpose of the Public Hearing is to receive citizen comments regarding the possible environmental impact on the proposed portion of the project located within the floodplain, pursuant to Executive Order 11988 (Floodplain Management) and Executive Order 11990 (Protection of Wetlands).  The information regarding the proposed recreation improvements project will be available for review at the Public Hearing.

The City of Cresson encourages the public to express their views regarding the proposed recreational improvements and possible floodplain impacts at this public hearing.  Persons unable to attend this meeting may submit their views and proposals to Rachel Shelly, City Administrator, at the following address:8901 Highway 377, Cresson, TX, 77056.  More information can be found online at http://www.cressontx.org

Master Plan for Parks, Recreation and Open Space

2018 Non-Urban Outdoor Recreation Grant Application

The City of Cresson will hold a City Council meeting and Public Hearing to receive citizen comments regarding adoption of the City’s Master Plan for Parks, Recreation and Open Space and the proposed 2018 Non-Urban Outdoor Recreation Grant Application.  Recreational priorities will be discussed for the development of this Texas Recreation and Parks Account Outdoor Recreation Program Master Plan and grant application to be submitted to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.  The public hearing will be held on Monday, July 16, 2018 at 5:15 PM at the Cresson City Council Chambers located at 8901 Highway 377, Cresson, TX.
